Regional funds like the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund are helping small firms to attract bigger investments, as one recent case shows.

Cumbrian-based Appleby Creamery, an artisan cheese maker  secured a £250,000 loan from the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund (NPIF), in a deal financed by NPIF – FW Capital Debt Finance.

Preston-based software developer Blue Wren  secured a £50,000 investment from NPIF – BFS & MSIF Microfinance  – a product fund managed by GC Business Finance in partnership with MSIF and part of the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund (NPIF) and Lancashire County Council’s Rosebud Microfinance. The investment will be used to fund a significant expansion of the company over the next three years.

Digital marketing firm Present Works received a £100,000 investment from NPIF – FW Capital Debt Finance, managed by FW Capital and part of the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund.
