The Power of 10:10 Year Impact Report sets out how the British Business Bank has supported more than 200,000 businesses to prosper and grow over the last decade. Through their growth we estimate they will boost UK economic output by around £43bn over the lifetime of their finance.
Importantly, this impact is shared across all parts of the UK, with each of the 12 constituent Nations and regions expected to benefit from a boost to economic output of at least £1bn in gross value added. Alongside the impact we have had on economic output, we have also supported more than two million jobs, and expect around a quarter of a million additional jobs to be created in addition to those already supported.
Key findings
- The Bank has increased in scale and scope over the decade, helping finance flows of more than £32bn to reach smaller UK businesses over this time.
- These flows have benefitted around 209,000 businesses, supporting just under 2.3m existing jobs.
- 250,000 additional jobs are expected to be created by the businesses supported who are also expected to generate £97bn in additional turnover, equivalent to £43bn in GVA.
- All parts of the UK are expected to experience a significant economic boost, with the estimated additional GVA impact at or above £1bn in each and every Nation and region of the UK
- The Bank’s impact goes beyond the measures presented in the report and is expected to increase over time given further developments in our capabilities.
