In April 2016, the British Business Bank published its Enterprise Finance Guarantee (EFG) Scheme Strategic and Operational Design Review 2015/6.
In November 2017, London Economics, with support from Ipsos MORI, published a positive economic evaluation of the Enterprise Finance Guarantee (.pdf - 1.44MB) Scheme.
EFG performance
- Budget 2017 (November) announced that EFG would be extended for a further four years and expanded to support up to £500 million per year.
- To date, more than 35,000 loans have been drawn down under the EFG programme, to a value of over £3.3 billion (as at end June 2019).
- There are currently over 40 accredited lenders offering EFG-supported borrowing facilities to smaller businesses).
