Wholesale Solutions – Summer Internship Programme 2017
Closes: 26 March 2017
Contract: Fixed Term Contract
Hours: Full time
Salary: £23,115 (pro rata)
At The British Business Bank, our objective is to make finance markets work better for UK small businesses. While 100% owned by the Government, we are managed independently under the governance of a board of directors. Currently, we employ around 160 people, split between our two offices in London and Sheffield.
The Wholesale Solutions team originates, structures and executes innovative capital market trades that help reduce the funding or capital constraints that can affect providers of finance to SMEs. These providers can include challenger banks and asset finance providers, as well as market place or peer to peer lenders. Based in London, it is a highly experienced team with a wide variety of backgrounds.
WHAT WE LOOK FOR
We’re looking for a solution oriented intern who can demonstrate exceptional problem solving and analytical skills. The successful candidate will have a collaborative approach, be able to confidently and articulately express their ideas, and also have the skills to build excellent relationships at all levels. As an intern in the Wholesale Solutions department, you could be studying or have studied a wide range of subjects so long as the relevant skills can be demonstrated.
WHAT YOU’LL DO AS AN INTERN
To get you started, you’ll join a two day induction to gain a high level overview of The British Business Bank and how we work. Following this, you’ll meet your team and your dedicated line manager. We want you to get the most out of your time with us so there will be on-going training and support including formal learning, on-the-job practice and mentoring. The program offers opportunities to meet with senior managers, colleagues and peers at all levels across the bank which will enable you to gain insights into the bank, its culture, and build a professional network.
You’ll agree specific objectives and be assigned to projects to develop your understanding of what we do, enabling you to work with your peers and devise solutions or ideas for real business issues. You will also receive regular review meetings to gauge how you are doing. We’re sure you’ll find this a worthwhile investment of your time, gaining ‘real life’ skills, experience and adding value to our business.
Apply by submitting your CV and covering letter to: email@example.com
(Please use the cover letter as an opportunity to show us how you have displayed the relevant skills in the past.)
