Seminars for prospective fund managers, 10 and 12 February 2016

This event has ended

We will be holding a series of information events for fund managers and other interested parties to meet our team and find out about partnering with us in delivering the £800m+ of funding we will be committing to SME investment and loan funds.

Sessions will be held in Leeds on 10 February and Manchester on 12 February and will cover the Enterprise Capital Fund (ECF) programme and the recently announced Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund (NPIF).

Our Venture Capital solutions team are already backing 19 Enterprise Capital Funds with over £660m of committed funding and this will be an opportunity to find out how we select and work with the teams we invest in. It will also be an opportunity to hear from existing managers who can give a candid view of the process.

The Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund will provide more than £400m of investment via a mix of debt and equity funds and we are interested in meeting fund management teams that will be able to operate within the NPIF geography as part of our market engagement prior to running a new process to appoint partners. This will be an opportunity to understand our objectives and to hear our developing plans.

Enterprise Capital Funds (ECFs)

ECFs are managed by experienced fund managers from a variety of backgrounds – including teams from the venture capital industry as well as serial entrepreneurs with a history of success in building early stage UK companies. This is a rolling investment programme from which we anticipate making between two and four new investments per year so we are actively looking for management teams to run ECFs.

Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund

In the 2015 Autumn Statement, the Chancellor announced an agreement between the British Business Bank and Local Enterprise Partnerships in the North West, Yorkshire & the Humber and Tees Valley to create a Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund of over £400m, subject to meeting European funding requirements.

The Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund will produce greater levels of investment, increase the focus on the potential opportunities across the Northern Powerhouse regions and provide increased flexibility in the type of funding provided.

We will be seeking both Equity and Debt fund managers to work with us on NPIF.

Timings:

10am-11am – Enterprise Capital Funds

11.30am-1pm – Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund

Registration is from 9am.
